SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket successfully launched from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station on Monday, March 4, marking the second consecutive launch day for the company following the Crew-8 mission on Sunday. The rocket carried and deployed 23 Starlink internet satellites into orbit without any local sonic booms expected during the mission.
One of the highlights of the launch was the successful landing of the Falcon 9 booster aboard the drone ship. The SpaceX launch webcast for the Starlink 6-41 mission began as the booster landed, despite reduced visibility due to fog at Cape Canaveral.
Fueling procedures for the Falcon 9 were underway as the launch was scheduled for 6:56 p.m. The booster was expected to land on the drone ship after stage separation, adding to the successful completion of the mission. A dense fog advisory was issued for northern Brevard County, but the launch proceeded without any issues.
In addition to the Cape Canaveral launch, SpaceX also launched the Transporter-10 mission from California, deploying the Sidus Space satellite. The Space Force had forecasted 80% favorable launch conditions for both missions.
