At the 2024 Oscars, Hollywood power couple Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling stole the spotlight in more ways than one. While Gosling wowed the audience with a performance of his best original song nominee “I’m Just Ken”, Mendes showed her unwavering support from home with their two children.
Mendes took to Instagram to share a photo of herself holding a sign that read “Go Ryan!” alongside a caption expressing her pride and love for her husband. This display of support came after Mendes had previously shared a video of herself cheering on Gosling during a rehearsal for the show.
Gosling’s performance of “I’m Just Ken” was a star-studded affair, with rock legend Slash joining him on stage. The performance featured dancers in cowboy hats and cardboard cutouts of Barbie dolls, adding a playful and whimsical touch to the evening.
Despite his daughters not having seen his starring role in the film “Barbie” yet, they have visited him on set during filming, showing that family remains a priority for Gosling.
In addition to Gosling’s performance, the Oscars also featured performances by Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell. However, the evening was not without controversy, as Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie were notably snubbed from the best director and best actor categories.
As Hollywood’s biggest night came to a close, it was clear that Mendes and Gosling’s love and support for each other shone just as brightly as the stars on the stage.
