Android phone users who are part of the beta update channel for the Google Phone app have noticed a fun new feature during their calls – “Audio Emoji.” This new menu gives callers a soundboard with six different sound effects to add a little extra flair to their conversations.
The sound effects include clapping, laughing, celebrations, a sad trombone, a “ba dum tss,” and even a fart button for some comedic relief. Each sound effect is accompanied by a short emoji, such as a cartoon poop squishing to the ground surrounded by flies.
Although Google has not formally announced the feature yet, it is slowly rolling out to users. If callers do not wish to see the emojis during their calls, they can easily disable the menu with an “X” in the top right corner of the screen. Additionally, there is a cooldown between emojis to prevent the spamming of sound effects during calls.
This new feature adds a touch of fun and lightheartedness to phone calls, allowing users to express themselves in a unique way. Keep an eye out for the Audio Emoji menu on your Google Phone app as it continues to roll out to more users in the coming weeks.
