Apple is gearing up to release upgraded Macs with the highly anticipated M4 System on a Chip (SoC) later this year. Following a similar unveiling strategy as its predecessor, the M3, the tech giant is planning to introduce four next-generation chipsets with the M4.
The M4 Ultra, specifically developed for the most powerful machines, is said to feature incredible processing capabilities that will support advanced artificial intelligence (AI) functionality. While the specifications of the M4 chipsets have not been officially revealed yet, it is expected that the lineup will include base chip, Pro, Max, and Ultra versions.
Internally referred to as ‘Hidra,’ the M4 Ultra is expected to be the highlight of the upcoming launch event. The M4 family is anticipated to ship with more CPU and GPU cores to efficiently handle AI requirements, along with higher cache and a larger Neural Engine.
Reports suggest that the A18 and A18 Pro, part of the M4 lineup, will also sport larger Neural Engines to enhance AI functions. Apple fans can look forward to more updates on the M4 lineup in the future as the company continues to push the boundaries of technology.
