One Worker’s Body Recovered from Francis Scott Key Bridge Collapse
Baltimore, MD – The body of one of the four construction workers who went missing after the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse has been recovered and identified. Maynor Yasir Suazo-Sandoval, a 38-year-old immigrant from Honduras, was one of six workers killed when a cargo ship collided with the bridge on March 26, causing a near-total collapse.
Two other workers’ bodies were found the day after the tragic incident, but three workers are still missing and presumed dead. President Joe Biden visited the site to meet with first responders and later planned to meet with the victims’ families.
Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott expressed his gratitude for the efforts of the first responders. With the recovery of Suazo-Sandoval’s body, the community is moving one step closer to closure. Authorities are dedicated to finding closure for the families of the victims and are providing support during this difficult time.
