Recently, the Norwegian Lawmaker Christian Tybring Gjedde nominated the US President, Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize. After the relations got normalized, the first commercial direct flight finally landed on Abu Dhabi on 31st August, 2020. This deal would be signed at the White House on 15th of September, 2020.

The joint statement said, “This historic diplomatic breakthrough will advance peace in the Middle East region and is a testament to the bold diplomacy and vision of the three leaders and the courage of the United Arab Emirates and Israel to chart a new path that will unlock the great potential in the region.” Adding onto it, Tybring-Gjedde wrote in his nomination letter to the Nobel Committee, “As it is expected other Middle Eastern countries will follow in the footsteps of the UAE, this agreement could be a game changer that will turn the Middle East into a region of cooperation and prosperity.” Tybring’s Facebook post reveals, “It is now to hope that the Nobel Committee is able to consider what Trump has achieved internationally and that it does not stumble in established prejudice against the US President.”
