In a surprising move, the Philadelphia Eagles have traded up to the No. 11 overall pick in the first round of the NFL Draft. In exchange, the Minnesota Vikings received the No. 22 overall pick in the first round and the No. 50 overall pick in the second round from the New Orleans Saints in a separate trade.
This trade is not out of character for Eagles General Manager Howie Roseman, who has a history of making bold moves in the first round. With the No. 11 pick, the Eagles are eyeing top cornerback prospects Terrion Arnold or Quinyon Mitchell, as well as wide receiver Xavier Worthy as potential targets.
Mitchell, in particular, may be the top candidate for the Eagles due to his size and speed, which could help improve the team’s pass defense. Meanwhile, the Vikings may use the No. 22 pick on a quarterback if one is available, or on a defensive player if they decide to go in a different direction.
If Minnesota does not select a quarterback at No. 11, they may continue with the trade and use the No. 22 pick on a QB and the No. 23 pick on a defensive player. However, if the Vikings choose a quarterback at No. 11, the Eagles could potentially make another trade with the Kansas City Chiefs for their draft slots at No. 16 and No. 19.
With the NFL Draft just around the corner, football fans are eagerly anticipating how these trades will pan out and which players will end up with which teams. Stay tuned to Jala News for all the latest updates on the NFL Draft and all things football.
