The man who drew the hate of animal lovers after he was accused of causing the death of Pinky, a beloved flamingo at a theme park, has died.
Joseph Anthony Corrao, was struck by a pickup as he crossed a street in Orlando, in accordance with the Florida Highway Patrol. Corrao was admitted to a hospital, where he died on June 5. The truck driver has not been cited, although authorities are investigating the incident.
Corrao was supposed to go to trial in August on felony animal cruelty costs, in keeping with court records.
In 2016, Corrao was at Busch Gardens in Tampa Bay together with his family when he grabbed Pinky and threw her to the bottom, nearly ripping one foot off, witnesses informed police.
The 19-year-old flamenco-dancing bird received traumatic accidents and was euthanized.
According to an FHP incident report, Carrao was crossing an Orlando road early in the morning of June 5 when he was hit. FHP stated he was not in an intersection or crosswalk. The driver would doubtless not face charges, FHP mentioned.
